Recent orders

Just catching up and updating our blog, here's a compilation of recent orders we had. Even though we don't specialize in cupcakes, lately we've seen a parade of them being requested in a great variety of flavors/designs/colors.

This was for a 90th birthday for a Canadian gentleman.

Sharon's son wedding order included custom decorated cake bites, sandollar sugar cookies, red velvet and lemon cupcakes (not pictured here) and a small wedding cake to match the rest of the theme.

We are currently working on another wedding and preparing for our 3rd Xmas Fair at Sunset Beach Elementary School, coming up on November 12. Hope to see you all there!!!

Cake Bites extravaganza

It's proven that the best advertising is first, people sampling your product and second, word of mouth. A while ago I sent a box of Cake Bites to a hospital's Emergency Room to thank for taking care of my mother in law when she had to go in. Two months ago I had to go in myself and I met Alana, who had previously tried our desserts and told me she wanted to get some for her upcoming wedding. Last thing I though when I went to the emergency room was ending up doing business before leaving :)
Two months and seven stitches later she contacted us and requested 300 Cake Bites with a coral colored flower. So we produced some samples for her:

After seeing the samples she asked if we could do a plumeria flower, so this is what we came up with:

She ended up going for the first samples and here's a shot of the whole order:

We had to make a little box to be able to pack the 300 Cake Bites, and we added a little gift with a bride and groom:

And so off they went and we hope she had a wonderful time on her wedding day. Thanks Alana!!!!

On another note, here's a picture of the Cake Bites made for our friends' baby shower, Monique and Denis a little while ago...

And another shot of an order made for my neighbor Natasha. She took it to her family in California.

The possibilities are endless with these little sweets so we are going to keep adding more designs soon.
Aloha a hui hou!!!

Two weddings

Last week we catered our friend Meie's wedding. She needed the desserts to be gluten free and it was our first request for this. We were very happy with the way they turned out and so were the people judging by the few pastries left on the table at the end of the evening. It was a very fun wedding and we wish Meie and Mike the best!!!

Here's the table set up with the cake.

This was a gluten free version of our Chocolate Temptation Cake, with handmade gumpaste plumerias on top.

Everything ready for the bride and groom to cut the cake.

The table featured gluten free Alfajores, gluten free Cake Bites and Thousand Sheets Cake.

So a week later, our friend Grace told us she was getting married... in four days :) This was a small beautiful wedding so it was easier to pull it off with such short notice.
For the cake, we dressed our Chocolate Temptation cake with handmade fondant shells. All shells were edible (except the ones on the table)

Then, we baked mini versions of our Heavenly Coconut Tartlet along with some Quince mini tartlets

It's amazing how much can the Cake Bites change when they are decorated with some simple but elegant detail.

So then, everything comes together in the table.

What a great wedding! Thanks for trusting us in this special day!
